Bangladesh makes flying start in SAFF Championship

Bangladesh national team kicked off the SAFF Championship 2021 with a dominating 1-0 victory over Sri Lanka at National Football Stadium in Male, the capital of Maldives.
The first half remained goalless. Later, Topu Barman scored the all-important goal from the penalty spot in the 54th minute after a Biplu Ahmed cross intended for Mohammad Ibrahim was handled inside the box by Lankan defender Duckson Puslas.
Bangladesh will take on archrivals India in their next match at the same venue Monday (October 4).
