Scotland registers another victory

Scotland beat Papua New Guinea by 17 runs in their second match of ICC Mens T20 World Cup 2021, securing consecutive two victories in the qualifiers.

Scotland, thanks to Richie Berrington’s brilliant innings of 70 runs, scored 165 runs losing nine wickets in 20 overs at Al Amerat Cricket Ground (Ministry Turf 1), Al Amerat in Oman on Tuesday (October 19).

Berrington hit 70 runs off 49 balls with six boundaries and three over baoundaries.

Wicket-keeper batsman Mathew Cross scored 45 runs from 36 balls with two boundaries and as many over boundaries.

George Munsey hit 15 runs while Calum MacLeod 10 and Michael Leask 9 runs.

In Chase, Papua New Guinea managed to 148 runs losing all wickets in 19.3 overs.

Norman Vanua scored 47 runs off 37 balls while Simon Atai posted 24 runs.

Skipper Assad Vala and wicket-keeper Kiplin Doriga hit 18 runs each.

Chad Soper scored 16 runs while Lega Siaka 9 runs.
