England beat West Indies by 6 wickets

England beat West Indies by six wickets in their first match of ICC Mens T20 World Cup 2021 at Dubai International Cricket Stadium, Dubai on Saturday (October 23).

The defending champion West Indies were bowled out for 55 runs. This was the third lowest score in the T20 World Cup so far and for the Windies, this was the second lowest T20 total. In addition, this is the lowest score for Windies against England.

After being put into bat, Windies lost its first wicket in the second over and wickets began to fall at pace before it was shot out in the 15th over. 

Chris Gayle was the top-scorer with 13 and was the sole batter with a double-digit score. England leg-spinner Adil Rashid topped with bowling charts with four wickets to his name.

In chase, England reached the target by losing four wickets in 8.2 overs.

Wicket-keeper Jos Buttler hit 24 runs while Jason Roy 11 runs.

Earlier, England spinner Adil Rashid smashed four wickets for 2 runs. Moeen and Tymal Mills shared two wickets each.
