Bangladesh cricket team is all set to depart Dhaka on Wednesday night for New Zealand to play two-match Test series against the host starting on January 1 in Tauranga.
The team is going to leave the country for New Zealand with the burden of a failure in mind as they failed to put any winning marks in the series against Pakistan.
The cricketers will leave with an Emirates flight tonight at 1 o'clock.
The first Test of the series will be played on January 1 at Mount Manganui. The second Test will start on January 9 in Christchurch. Bangladesh has to go earlier due to quarantine obligations.
Bangladesh team will get a chance to practice at the end of seven days quarantine with three days isolation. During this time three Covid-19 tests will be conducted on them.
Two important players – Shakib Al Hasan and Tamim Iqbal will not play the series. Tamim is not included due to his injury. The BCB announced the team at the beginning keeping Shakib. But soon after the announcement of the squad, he applied for official leave.
