Bangladesh girls clinch SAFF U-19 Champion title

The Bangladesh football team lifted the SAFF U-19 Championship when they defeated India 1-0 in the title clash on Wednesday (December 22).

Anai Mogini scored the winner in the 80th minute at Bir Sherestha Shaheed Shipahi Mostafa Kamal Stadium in Dhaka’s Kamalapur. Following the only goal, the team of Maria Manda emerged champions of the tournament.

Earlier, Bangladesh beat India by 1-0 in the round-robin league stage.

The Bangladesh side began their SAFF Championship campaign with a 0-0 draw against Nepal on December 11. Later, they defeated Bhutan and Sri Lanka by 6-0 and 12-0 respectively.

Bangladesh's Saheda Akter Ripa finished the tournament being the highest scorer with five goals.
