Opener Tamim Iqbal hit a century to lead a strong Bangladesh reply on the third day of the opening Test against Sri Lanka at Zahur Ahmed Chowdhury Stadium in Chattogram on Tuesday.
Tamim Iqbal smashed his 10th Test ton - making 100 off 162 – after Mahmudul Hasan Joy departed immediately after lunch.
The opener has played more aggressively in the middle, smashing a total of 12 boundaries on way to his century. With 10 centuries in Tests, Tamim has also moved close to catching Mominul Haque, who leads the chart for most centuries by a Bangladeshi in Tests with 11 Test tons to his name.
Sri Lanka scored 397-10 in the first innings on Monday (May 16).
Nayeem Hasan picked up six wickets, while Angelo Mathews missed his double ton for a single run.
