Litton-Mushfiqur rebuild

Bangladesh are now batting against Sri Lanka in the second and final game of the two-match Test series at Sher-e-Bangla National Cricket Stadium on Monday (May 23).

Brief score: Bangladesh 151/5 (50 overs)

The Tigers were in huge pressure after they had lost early five key wickets— Mahmudul Hasan Joy, Tamim Iqbal, Mominul Haque, Shakib Al Hasan and Najmul Hossain Shanto.

Mushfiqur and Litton saw out the back end of the opening bowlers’ spells, then began to appear a little more comfortable at the crease as the session wore on, particularly against spin. Their partnership suggested there were no terrors in the surface for the batters.

Litton is now batting on 69 off 119, with ten fours to his name. Mushfiqur is on 62 off 144, with ten fours to his name.

Earlier, Bangladesh won the toss and decided to bat first against Sri Lanka in the second and final game of the two-match Test series.

The match began at 10:00 am.
