FIFA World Cup trophy now in Dhaka

The FIFA World Cup trophy has arrived in Dhaka.

A chartered flight, carrying the original FIFA World Cup trophy, landed at Hazrat Shahjalal International Airport at around 11.45 am on Wednesday.
BFF President Kazi Mohammad Salahuddin and other officials received the trophy at the airport.

The trophy tour is accompanied by a seven-member FIFA delegation, including French 1998 World Cup winner Christian Karembeu.

The trophy will be taken to the President's residence, the Bangabhaban at 4.00pm, and the residence of the Prime Minister, the Ganobhaban at 7.00 pm.

With the sponsor of Coca-Cola, BFF will host a dinner for specific invited guests on Wednesday night.

On Thursday, the trophy will be taken to Hotel Radisson and people will also have opportunities to take photos with the trophy. Later, a cultural programme will be held and the trophy will be displayed at the Army Stadium in the capital’s Banani area for the public.

Teams of 32 countries will attend Qatar World Cup in November-December this year.
