Zimbabwe clinched ODI series title against Bangladesh as they beat the visitors by five wickets in the second ODI of the three-match series at the Harare Sports Club in Harare on Sunday (August 07).
Bangladesh, thanks to two half-centuries, managed to score 290 runs by losing nine wickets in 50 overs.
Mahmudullah Riyad hit a brilliant innings of 80 runs from 84 balls with three boundaries and as many over-boundaries.
Tamim Iqbal smashed 50 runs off 45 balls with 10 boundaries and an over-boundary.
In chase, Zimbabwe, with two centuries, scored 291 runs by losing five wickets with remaining 15 balls left.
Sikandar Raza (not out) hit a brilliant innings of 117 runs from 127 balls with eight boundaries and four over-boundaries.
Skipper and wicket-keeper Regis Chakabva smashed an innings of 102 runs from 75 balls with 10 boundaries and two over-boundaries.
Debutant Tony Munyonga registered 30 runs off 16 balls with two boundaries and as many over-boundaries.
Earlier, Zimbabwe beat Bangladesh by five wickets in the first ODI as well.
Mentionable, the hosts also clinched T20 series by 2-1 against the visiting Bangladesh at the same venue.
