Fates of Shakib, Mahmudullah to be fixed today

The fates of Shakib Al Hasan and Mahmudullah Riyad will be fixed today (Saturday). Who will be caption for T20 squad and Asia Cup, which starts at the last week of this month.

After multiple delays, Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) is going to announce the squad of the national cricket team for the upcoming Asia Cup today (August 13).

BCB President Najmul Hasan Papon will hold a meeting with Shakib Al Hasan at noon. After the meeting, BCB will take the final decision and announce the captain.

Shakib has already cancelled the contract with ‘Betwinner’. But, BCB will review the other sides of the contract. Kazi Nurul Hasan Sohan and Liton Das are suffering from injury. Mahmudullah Riyad’s performance is not so good. In this circumstance, Shakib is on the top list but Betwinner contract issue can be embarrassed for BCT. So, Mahmudullah can get the opportunity, sources said.

BCB was given an extension of the deadline after a number of their key players suffered injuries.
