Another Pakistani cricketer hospitalised during 6th T20 against England

The 21-year-old Pakistan National Cricket Team batter Haider Ali was rushed to the hospital because of a viral illness during the 6th T20I match of the 7-match T20I series against the England National Cricket Team at the Gaddafi Stadium, Lahore on Friday, September 30.

England National Cricket Team won the toss in the 6th T20I and asked Pakistan National Cricket Team to bat first. The Men In Green posted 169/6 on the board with the help of Babar Azam’s unbeaten 87 runs knock.

Chasing the target, Phil Salt went into destruction mode and annihilated the Pakistan bowling unit to help his side chase down the target in 14.3 overs. Salt scored 88 runs off 41 balls, including 13 fours and 3 sixes.

Meanwhile, in the first innings of the match, the young Pakistan batter Haider Ali had scored 18 runs off 14 balls, including one four and one six, before being dismissed by Sam Curran in the 9th over.

The middle-order batter Haider felt dizzy in the dressing room after the first innings and was substituted. Also, he was taken to the hospital.

Talking about his performance in the series against England, the young batter registered scores of 11, 3, 4 and 18 in 4 innings.

Haider Ali is the second player of the ICC Men’s T20 World Cup 2022 squad of the Pakistan National Cricket Team to get hospitalised during the series against England after young pacer Naseem Shah.

The 19-year-old Pakistan National Cricket Team star right-arm pacer Naseem Shah was rushed to the hospital on the eve of the 5th T20I with a severe viral infection.

The pacer had spent two nights in a local hospital in Lahore because of pneumonia. Later, he tested positive for Covid-19 and was ruled out of the remainder of the T20I series against England. However, he is set to fly out with the squad to New Zealand on Monday for a triangular T20I series also featuring Bangladesh.

Meanwhile, the ICC Men’s T20 World Cup 2022, which is the eighth edition of the multi-nation tournament, is scheduled to be played from October 16 to November 13.

Pakistan National Cricket Team are placed in Group 2 of the marquee tournament along with India National Cricket Team, Bangladesh National Cricket Team, and South Africa National Cricket Team. _Agencies
