Walton becomes power sponsor of BPL

Country’s leading electrical and electronics manufacturing organisation Walton has become the power sponsor of Bangladesh Premier League (BPL).

The Walton Group, which has been a regular sponsor of domestic cricket, has now joined the BPL.

Besides, the BBS Cables is the tournament sponsor. This season of the BPL is named as “Bangabandhu BPL T-20, 2022, presented by BBS Cables, powered by Walton”.

In a press conference at Mirpur Sher-e-Bangla, Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) announced the names of sponsors of the tournament on Thursday (January 20).

The Bangabandhu Bangladesh Premier League (BPL) is scheduled to start on January 21. With Dhaka, Chattogram and Sylhet as hosts, the six-team tournament, featuring Dhaka, Chattogram, Cumilla, Barishal, Sylhet and Khulna spanning over 34 matches, will be played on a double round-robin format followed by three play-offs before the final on February 18.

BCB director and BPL governing council member secretary Haider Mollick, BCB director Tanvir Islam Titu, BCB Chief Executive Nizam Uddin Chowhdury, BBC Cables Limited Chairman Engineer Abu Noman Hawladar and Walton Group Senior Executive Director Uday Hakim attended the function.
