1 dead, 6 hurt in Jatrabari gas explosion

Staff Correspondent: A person was killed and hurt six persons including four of a family sustained burn injuries in an explosion erupted from gas leakage in Dhalpur of Jatrabari in the capital on Friday morning.

The deceased was identified as Tahsin, 7.

Jatrabari police station Officer-in-Charge Kazi Wazed Ali said the incident took place around 8:30am in city corporation quarter of the area. The injured were cleaners of City Corporation.

The burn injured are – Nishan, 14, Ator Begum, 70, Sumon, 40 and wife Sajuli, 35, Alamgir, 30 and his wife Kajli Begum, 25.

The injured were taken to the burn unit of Dhaka Medical College Hospital. Of the injured two are in critical condition, said doctors.
