10 held with snake venom in capital

Staff Correspondent: Members of detective branch (DB) of police on Monday night detained ten people with 12 pounds of snake venom, fake notes of several lakh taka and fake currency-making materials after conducting drives at different places in Dhaka.

Md Masudur Rahman, deputy commissioner (media) of Dhaka Metropolitan Police, confirmed the matter to risingbd.com on Tuesday morning.

Masudur Rahman said ten people have been detained after conducting drives at different places in Dhaka. 12 pounds of snake venom, fake notes of several lakh taka and fake currency-making materials have been seized from their possession during the drive.

The detainees could not be known immediately, he said.

Details would be disclosed later at a press briefing, he added.
