Special Correspondent: Instead of setting up 100-storey building at Keraniganj, the government has decided to build it at Purbachal area near the capital city Dhaka.
The US-based KPC group will invest in the construction of an international convention and an exhibition center under a township project here in Bangladesh.
The construction work will be ended by 2016, says Finance Minister AMA Muhith on Sunday.
The Finance Minister came up with the affirmation while talking with journalists after a meeting in this connection while the Commerce Minister Tofail Ahmed was also present at that time.
According to the proposal of KPC, the group wants to build an international convention center, a five-star hotel and a private medical university at the proposed site.
The KPC Group is engaged in numerous businesses around the world serving diverse industries such as healthcare services and facilities, pharmaceutical and biotechnology, education, real estate, infrastructure development, agriculture, architecture and engineering, alternative energy, waste management, travel services and information technology.
