Staff Correspondent, Chittagong: Police has recovered 11 sacks of phensedyl hiding under the soil of Barisal slum near the railway station in Chittagong city.
On Wednesday morning, the phensedyl was recovered through an anti-drug block raid. The raid started early morning and ended at 9:45 am.
Additional Deputy Commissioner of Chittagong Metropolitan Police Shah Abdur Rouf confirmed the matter.
Police said that about 500 policemen started the raid at the Barisal Colony in the city. Additional Deputy Commissioner Shah Abdur Rouf led the raid and 11 sacks of phensedyl were recovered in search of houses. There are about 2300 bottles of Phensidyl in these sacks.
During the campaign, police broke down and burnt some of the drug shelters. However, no one was arrested in the operation. Police said that the anti-drug campaign would continue.
