1,200 latrines, 1,200 tube wells for Rohingyas

Senior Reporter: The Local Government Division is setting up 1,200 sanitary latrines and installing 1,200 tube wells in Cox's Bazar for Rohingya people.

The 1,200 sanitary latrines are being set up to ensure hygienic sanitation and 1,200 tube wells will supply safe drinking water to Rohingyas in the areas of Cox's Bazar.

698 tube wells have already installed while the rest of tube wells will be set up within the next three days. Besides, the Local Government Division is also supplying water among Rohingyas through 14 water treatment plants and six mobile water carriers, having capacity of 3,000 litre water at the Rohingya camps.

It has set up eight water reservoirs having 1,000 litre water facility adjacent to the road for easy supplying of water.

Some six lakh water purified tablets have been deposited in Cox's Bazar.

It has also used 1,350 kg of bleaching powder to avoid unhygienic condition in the areas.
