15 Afghan police killed in Taliban attack

International Desk: At least 15 Afghan border policemen have been killed in a Taliban attack on a small outpost in northern Kunduz province.
At least 13 others were wounded in Thursday's attack in Qalah-e Zal district, near the border with Tajikistan, provincial council member Sayed Assadullah Sadat told dpa.
Part of the base caught fire and the militants took all the equipment they could carry away, he said.
The incident was also confirmed by provincial council member Aminullah Ayuddin, who said at least 16 were killed.
Taliban militants have ramped up attacks on Afghan security forces and government facilities in recent months throughout the country, leaving a trail of dead and wounded behind them.
At least 13 Afghan security forces were killed and at least 20 others were wounded on Monday in Taliban attacks in northern Faryab province.
