15 injured in PSTU clash

Pabna Correspondent: At least 15 people were injured in a clash between students and staff at Pabna Science and Technology University (PSTU) on Saturday.

Sources said that an altercation took place between security guard and Dr M Abdul Alim, Chairman of Bangla department and also Dean of Social Science faculty during admission test on Friday. Following the incident, security staff jointly attacked the university teacher.

Later, protesting in the attack on teacher, students of Bangla department took position around 10:30am on Saturday. Some teachers also joined the protest programme.

The clash broke out when the university staff attacked the students and teachers. It lasted for nearly two hours, leaving the 15 people injured.

On information, police rushed to the spot and brought the situation under control.

Confirming the matter, Proctor the university Awal Kabir Joy said that the overall situation in the university campus is normal now.
