1,500 deputy secretaries to get car loan

Special Correspondent: Around 1,500 deputy secretaries and few others from the economic cadre and judicial service will get get interest-free car loan facilities.

The government officials will get Tk 30 lakh loan for purchasing a car and monthly maintenance fee of Tk 50,000. 

The public administration ministry recently has issued the gazette that stated that the existing car loan facility had been amended to extend the facility down to the deputy secretary level. This would come into effect immediately, according to the gazette notification.

A total of 1, 479 government officials including deputy secretaries, joint chiefs from economic cadres and judicial officers of the drafting wing of law ministry, further widening the inter-cadre discrepancies will enjoy the facilities. 

However, officers equivalent to deputy secretary and joint secretary of other cadres like health, agriculture, police, customs, income tax, audit, education would not be entitled to enjoy the facility, they observed.
