17 Bangladeshi victims identified

Staff Correspondent: A total of 17 Bangladesh nationals, of the US-Bangla Airlines plane that crashed in Kathmandu last week have been identified. However, nine more ill-fated passengers are yet to be identified. 

A list of the victims was sent to Bangladesh embassy in Nepal on Saturday night. The bodies of 17 victims will be sent to Bangladesh on Tuesday.

The identified Bangladeshi victims are - Pilot Abid Sultan, and Co-pilot Prithula Rashid, Aniruddha Zaman, Rafiquz Zaman, Tahira Tanvin Shashi, Meenhaz Bin Nasir, Motiur Rahman, Akhtara Begum, Hasan Imam, Tamara Priyonmoyee, SM Mahmudur Rahman Khwaja Hossain Saif, Bilkis Ara, Nuruz Zaman, Foysal Ahmed, Rokibul Hasan and Sanzida Haque.

A total of 28 dead bodies including 10 Nepalese and one Chinese have been identified so far.

Earlier on March 12, 49 of the 71 people on board the US-Bangla plane from Dhaka died when it crashed near the runway of Tribhuvan International Airport in Kathmandu.
