18 BCL activists expelled

Staff Correspondent: At least 18 activists of Bangladesh Chhatra League (BCL) have temporarily been expelled from the party for factional clashes in Dhaka University.

The decision was disclosed through a press release on Thursday night.

In the presence of BCL central committee President Saifur Rahman Shohag and General Secretary S M Zakir Hossain, an important meeting of the central leaders took the decision on Thursday evening.

Saifur Rahman Shohag said that they have been expelled from BCL due to their involvement in the anti-organizational movement.

In fact, there were clashes between the BCL activists at different times of this month. At least 13 people were injured in the clashes.

According to the press release, they have temporarily expelled six activists of Sir AF Rahman Hall for factional clash on April 6. The concerned authorities also expelled five more activists from the same hall for violence in hall canteen on April 23.

The authorities also expelled seven Chhatra League activists form Salimullah Muslim Hall due to a factional clash.
