2 Indian nationals held with foreign currency in Dhaka

Staff Correspondent: Two Indian nationals were detained with huge amount of foreign currency at Hazrat Shahjalal International Airport in Dhaka on Monday.

The detainees are- Sharafat Ali and Biswajit Das.

Sources said that the two Indian citizens were detained under the Customs Act and the Money Laundering Prevention Act. They were going to Bangkok through a flight of BG-0044 from Dhaka.

Customs Detective and Investigation Director General Dr. Shahidul Islam told confirmed the matter to risingbd.com.

The seized currencies are worth Tk 30 lakh.
