2 JSC examinees drown in B'baria

Brahmanbaria Correspondent: Two examinees of Junior School Certificate examinations, drowned as a boat carrying them sank in the Pagla River at Nabinagar in Brahmanbaria on Wednesday.

The deceased were identified as Nadira Aktar, 14, Shanta Begum Sonia, 14.

Local sources said that the boat carrying the students hit a pillar of the Krishnanagar Bridge around 8:30 am and capsized. The students were on their way to Krishnanagar High School centre from Thanakandi village to appear for their JSC examination.

Later, locals rushed to the spot and rescued two the students and sent them to Krishnanagar Health Care and Brahmanbaria Sadar Hospital where duty doctors declared them dead.

Aslam Sikdar, officer-in-charge of Nabinagar Police Station confirmed the matter.
