2 cops, Raintree hotel owner asked to appear before NHRC

Staff Correspondent: The probe committee formed by National Human Rights Commission (NHRC) has asked two police officials and authority of the Raintree hotel to appear before the NHRC office on May 25 following the alleged rape of two university girls in the capital's posh area Banani.

Nazrul Islam, the convener of the probe committee, told risingbd.com on Tuesday night that they have been called for interrogating over the incident as their statements are required to complete the probe.

According to the NHRC, Mostak Ahmed, Deputy Commissioner of Gulshan division of police, Officer-in-Charge in Banani police station BM Forman Ali, Owner and Managing Director (MD) of The Raintree hotel Shah Md Adnan Harun and hotel's General Manager Frank Forget have been asked to appear before the commission.

The NHRC formed the probe committee following the alleged rape of two university girls in the capital's posh area Banani on March 28.
