Staff Correspondent: Members of Rapid Action Battalion (RAB)-3 detained two members of a fraud gang along with about 15,000 personal photos of over 100 women from Dhaka and Gopalganj.
One of them was detained from Dhaka on Sunday night and another from Gopalganj this morning.
The detainees are Md Alamin Sheikh alias Sobuj and Shahadat Hossain alias Modhu.
During this time, a laptop, a computer, nine mobile phones, a lot of obscene videos and about 15,000 personal photos of over 100 women were recovered from their possession.
RAB-3 Commanding Officer Lt Col Tuhin Mohammad Masud told a press briefing on Monday that the detainees have primarily confessed to their crimes.
When customers come to the mobile servicing points to repair their mobiles, these criminals copy the documents which their mobiles contain and later they threaten to misuse their personal documents even they extort money from those customers, the RAB official said.
