2 minors ‘sexually abused’ in capital, 3 held

Staff Correspondent: Two children were reportedly molested at Jatrabari in the capital in the early hours of Sunday. Three people were detained in this connection.

Anisur Rahman, officer-in-charge (OC) of Jatrabari Police Station, told risingbd.com that the incident took place at an under construction building in the area. The two children are cousin. They have been admitted to a hospital. The detained three have been sent to court. The victims’ family has filed a case in this connection under Women and Children Repression Prevention Act.

The children told families a gang of local young men, Rabbi, Yasin, Rifat, and Jahid, picked them when they were returning home and forcefully took them to the building and sexually molested them.

The victims’ family and local sources said the children are around 11 years old. They are class IV and V students of a local school.
