2 night guards killed during N'ganj robbery

Staff Correspondent, Narayanganj: Robbers looted goods from three shops killing two night guards in Lakshmankhola area on Madanganj-Dhaka road in Bandar of Narayanganj early Saturday.

The deceased were identified as Raihan Uddin, 55, son of late Abdus Samad Miah, of Lakshmankhola area and Abdul Motaleb, 65, son of late Hobi Miah of Chourapara area.



Sources said that robbers swooped on the three shops named 'Battery Store', 'Satota Mela Battery' and 'Satota Battery Servicing Center' early hours of Saturday and looted the goods. The robbers looted valuables worth Tk 27 lakh, claimed the owners of the shops.

Confirming the matter, Shahin Mandal, officer-in-charge of Bandar Police Station said, after killing the night guards, the robbers committed the robbery and fled the scene.



Police raid is underway to arrest the criminals, OC added.
