2 ‘robbers’ killed in Narayanganj ‘gunfights’

Staff Correspondent, Narayanganj: Two suspected robbers were killed in separate two ‘gunfights’ in the district early Tuesday.

A robber named Ibrahim was killed in a ‘gunfight’ with police in Sonachara area of Narayanganj Bandar Thana.

According to police sources, a team of the law enforcers conducted a drive in the area while a gang of robbers was taking preparations to commit robbery. Sensing presence of police personnel, robbers opened fire aiming the law enforcers which triggered the gunfight. At one stage, the robbers fled the scene.

Later, police recovered the dead body of Ibrahim.

Another robber named Delwar Hossain alias Raja was killed in a gunfight between two groups of robbers at Rupganj.
