Staff Correspondent: A Dhaka Court has placed two students who were arrested in a case filed for allegedly spreading provocative information on popular social media Facebook over the countrywide student movement demanding safe roads, on a three-day remand each.

Dhaka Metropolitan Magistrate Subrata Ghosh Shuvo passed the order on Wednesday after police produced them before the court with a 10-day remand prayer.

The remanded accused are Ahmed Hossain, 19 and Nazmus Sakib, 24. Among them, Nazmus Sakib is a student of University of Liberal Arts Bangladesh while Ahmed Hossain is a Madrasa student.

Earlier on Tuesday night, the organised crime (cybercrime) unit of Criminal Investigation Department (CID) arrested the two students conducting a drive at Kamrangirchar area in the city.

A case was filed against them with Paltan Police Station under the controversial section 57 of Information and Communication Technology (ICT) Act.
