2 suspected cattle thieves killed in lynch-mob attack

Staff Correspondent, Rangpur: Two suspected cattle thieves were killed and another injured in a lynch-mob attack by the villagers at Madarpur village under the district’s Pirganj upazila early Monday.
One of the deceased was identified as Raju Ahmed, hailing from Sonatola in Bogra.
According to police and locals, a gang of thieves entered the house of Abdur Rahim in a bid to steal cows.
Sensing the presence, villagers chased them and gave a mass-beating to three, leaving one dead on the spot.
Being informed, police rushed to the spot and recovered the body and sent two injured to Pirganj Upazila Health Complex where one died.
Officer-in-Charge (OC) of Pirganj Thana Rezaul Karim confirmed the matter.
