2 suspected robbers beaten to death

Brahmanbaria Correspondent: Two suspected robbers were killed in mass beating at Jagannathpur village of the district's Nabinagar upazila on Wednesday night.

The deceased were identified as Khandoker Enamul Haque, son of late Khandoker Abu Taher of Rasullabad village, and Md Yasin, son of late Jaru Mia of Kazlia village of the upazila.

Locals and police said a gang of robbers raided on local UP member Sentu Mia's house on Wednesday night. Sensing the incident, villagers rushed in and chased the robbers.

Though all the robbers managed to flee the scene, the two fell in mass beating and sustained serious injuries, sources said.

Later, they were rushed to Nabinagar Upazila Health Complex where attending doctors declared them dead, police said.

Md Imtiaz Ahmed, Officer-in-Charge (OC) of Nabinagar Police Station, confirmed the news.

The bodies were taken to the police station. They both were accused in several cases, he added.
