24,000 MW electricity to be generated within 2021

Staff Correspondent, from Parliament: State Minister for Power, Energy and Mineral Resources Nasrul Hamid told in the House that it is possible to generate 24,000 megawatt (MW) electricity within 2021. Within this period, Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina's commitment to provide electricity to every house will be materialised.

The Minister came up with the statement in reply to a query in the Parliament session on Thursday.

Nasrul Hamid said the government has taken a mega plan to generate 60,000 MW electricity within 2041 to ensure uninterrupted and reliable power supply.
