Parliament Correspondent: State Minister for Labour and Employment Begum Monnujan Sufian said the current government is working with aims to make youth society free from curse of unemployment through employment and other facilities.
She said this while replying a question placed by the ruling lawmaker Begum Habiba Rahman Khan.
State Minister informed the House that there are 26.77 lakh people are unemployed across the country. Of them, 10.43 lakh are educated young people who earned graduation and post-graduation degrees. Half-educated unemployed are 40 percent.
She said, “A total of 25,74,498 workers are currently working in the country’s RMG sector. Of them, 12,60,961 are male while 13,13,537 are female.”
In reply to AL’s lawmaker Israfil Alam’s question, Monnujan said a total of 31,23,370 labourers are working in other factories or institutions of the country.
Of them, 23,90222 are male while 7,33,148 are female, she added.
