26 expatriates get remittance award

Economic Reporter: A total of 26 expatriates have got the “Bangladesh Bank Remittance Award-2016”.
State Minister for Finance MA Mannan handed over the award in the Bangla Academy’s Abdul Karim Sahitya Bisharad auditorium in the city on Tuesday.
Financial Institutions Division Senior Secretary M Eunusur Rahman and BB Governor Fazle Kabir attended as special guests.
BB Deputy Governor Shitangshu Kumar Sur Chowdhury chaired the function.
Bangladesh Bank (BB) distributed the remittance award among the highest remittance senders and the highest remittance receiving institutions for encouraging non-resident Bangladeshis (NRBs) to send money through legal channels.
The award was given under five categories to expedite the inflow of remittance. The categories are: skilled remitter, unskilled remitter, bond investor NRB, exchange house owner NRB and the highest remittance receiver bank.
