2nd phase gas price hike to be effective from today

Staff Correspondent: The second phase gas price hike is going to be effective from today (June 1).

Bangladesh Energy Regulatory Commission (BERC) on February 23 raised gas prices for all consumers by 22.07 percent and decided to implement the hike in two phases.

Though the first phase was effective on due time, the second phase price was stayed by a High Court (HC) order.

But a chamber court stayed the HC order, clearing the way to make effective the price hike.

After effectiveness of the second phase price hike, household consumers have to pay Tk 950 and Tk 900 respectively for double burner and single burner respectively.
