3 Apan Jewellers owners sent to jail

Staff Correspondent: A court in Dhaka has sent the three owners of Apan Jewellers to jail in separate three cases filed for their alleged involvement in money laundering.

The court passed the order on Monday after the Customs Intelligence produced the accused before it at the end of a one-day remand.

Dhaka Metropolitan Magistrate Sadbir Yeasir Ahsan Chowdhury sent owner of Apan Jewellers Dildar Ahmed Selim, also father of the double-rape case accused Shafat Ahamed, to jail in the case filed with Ramna police station and Dhaka Metropolitan Magistrate Debabrata Biswas sent other two owners of Apan Jewellers Gulzar Ahmed and Azad Ahmed in separate two cases filed with Gulshan police station to jail.

Earlier on October 2, two separate courts granted a one-day remand for the accused in the three cases.
