3 friends crushed to death under covered van

Staff Correspondent, Chittagong: Three friends were crushed to death under a covered van in the district on Wednesday night.

The accident took place around 10.30pm in Banubazar area under the district’s Sitakunda upazila.

The deceased were identified as Md Rakib Uddin (25), Noyon (28) and Mohammad Jabed (30). The three persons were friends and residents of Fakirhat area of Sitakunda upazila.

Officer-in-Charge (OC) of Bar Awalia Thana Md Saleh Ahamad said the three friends riding on a motorcycle were going to Bhatiari from Sitakunda.  In Banubazar area, a covered van coming from opposite side hit them. Two died on the spot and another died at hospital.
