3 killed as train hits microbus in Comilla

Comilla Correspondent: Three people have been killed as a train hit a microbus in Shrinibash area under Bijoypur union of Comilla Sadar Dakkhin (South) upazila on Tuesday noon.

One of the deceased was identified as Abu Taher, 52, a retired army person while the identities of the two others could not be known immediately.

Sources said that the accident took place around 12:00pm when the Sylhet-bound Paharika Express hit the microbus while it was crossing an unauthorised rail gate, leaving one dead on the spot and injured two others.

Later, the injured were sent Comilla Medical College Hospital where duty doctor declared them dead.

Lalmai highway police outpost in-charge sergeant Ibrahim confirmed the matter.
