3 killed in capital fire

Staff Correspondent: Three people including a child have been killed in the incident of fire broke out at a store house in the capital's Islambag.

The deceased were identified as Shamim, Saleha and Sima.

The fire originated around 4:15pm on Saturday. Being informed, 12 units of Fire Service rushed the spot and doused the blaze around 5:45pm, after a frantic efforts of half and an hour.

Fire Service men recovered three bodies from the spot, confirmed Mizanur Rahman, duty officer of Fire Service control room.

The bodies were taken to Dhaka Medical College and Hospital (DMCH) around 9:15pm, confirmed Bachchu Mia, Sub-Inspector (SI) of DMCH police outpost.

Locals said the fire originated at the store house of a plastic factory set up at the ground floor of a three-storey building at Islambag. The fire spread out on the first floor immediately, leaving three people burnt alive.
