Staff Correspondent, Rajshahi: A court in Rajshahi sentenced three persons to death for killing Rajshahi University teacher Prof AKM Shafiul Islam Lilon.
Rajshahi speedy trial Tribunal judge Anup Kuman Roy passed the order on Monday.
The death row convicts are- Ariful Islam Manik, Sabuj Sheikh and Abdus Salam Pintu.
The court also acquitted eight other accused in the murder case.
On 15 November, 2014, the RU sociology department professor Shafiul was hacked to death in front of his residence near the university campus.
Later, the tuniversity registrar professor Muhammad Entajul Haque filed a murder case with Motihra police station.
