35th BCS: 1,466 more recommended for appointment

Staff Correspondent: The Public Service Commission (PSC) recommended the government to appoint another 1,466 candidates, who passed the 35th Bangladesh Civil Service (BCS) examinations, to the second-class non-cadre posts.

The decision was taken at an emergency meeting held at PSC office in Dhaka on Thursday, said PSC Chairman Dr Muhammad Sadiq.

The recommended 1,466 candidates will be appointed for the different posts of social service officers, assistant tax officers, family planning officers, information officers and labour inspectors, the PSC chairman said.

The PSC had recommended appointment of 2,158 class-I cadre posts from among the 5,517 successful candidates of the 35th Bangladesh Civil Service.

It asked for applications from the other successful candidates for appointments to class-I and II non-cadre posts. As many as 2,600 applied for the posts.

The government has appointed 2,163 from the 35th BCS to non-cadre posts with those 1,466 appointed on Thursday.
