3kg gold seized, 1 held

Staff Correspondent: Airport customs authorities seized 3.2 Kilogram of gold in separate drives from Hazrat Shahjalal International Airport and Sylhet Osmani International Airport in the city.

The detainee is identified as Sadikur Rahman Shamu, hailed from Jagannathpur of Sunamganj district.

Sources said that the detectives detained a man along with 2.574 kilogram of gold from Sylhet Osmani International Airport on Saturday morning.

Earlier on Friday night, a team of customs intelligence seized 632 grams of gold from two passengers at Hazrat Shahjalal International Airport in Dhaka.

Customs intelligence director general Dr Md Shahidul Islam confirmed the matter to risingbd.com.
