3kg gold seized at Shahjalal Int'l Airport

Staff Correspondent: Customs officials in separate drives seized gold bars, weighing around three kilograms at Hazrat Shahjalal International Airport in the capital.

The customs officials said that a Sylhet-bound flight from Dubai landed at Dhaka Airport on Saturday morning. Meanwhile, the law enforcers seized gold bars weighing 466 grams, four iphone hand sets and four iwatches from them.

Earlier, the law enforcers seized 16 gold bars from under garments of six passengers from a flight of Biman Bangladesh Airlines BG-040 on Friday afternoon.



Dr. Sahidul Islam, Director General of Customs Intelligence and Investigation Directorate (CIID) confirmed the matter to risingbd.com.

The price of the gold is estimated to be around Tk 1.5 crore.
