4 gang rape accused remanded

Staff Correspondent: A Dhaka court has placed four accused, who were arrested in connection with a case filed for the gang rape of a girl at a residence of Moghbazar Wireless Gate area in the capital, on different terms of remand.

Dhaka Metropolitan Magistrate Md Golam Nabi passed the order on Thursday after Ramna police produced them before the court seeking a seven-day remand for interrogation.

Those remanded accused are Nazmul Hasan Imon, Shariful Islam, Ekramul Hasan and Ashikur Rahman Jibon.

Nazmul Hasan Imon and Ashikur Rahman Jibon were placed on a two-day remand while Shariful Islam and Ekramul Hasan placed on a one-day remand.

According to the case statement, the girl lives at Mugda area in the capital. She was invited in name of performing in a dance party and taken to a residence of Moghbazar Wireless Gate area yesterday night. The accused gang-raped her after she was confined to a room of the second floor of the residence.
