4 get life term for killing in Gazipur

Staff Correspondent: A district court in Gazipur on Monday awarded life term imprisonment to four people including three siblings for killing a man in 2004.

Gazipur Additional Session Judge Court-2 Judge M Iqbal Hossain passed the order on this noon.

The court also fined them Tk 10,000, in default, they will suffer more three months in the prison.

The accused are- Masud, Sanaullah, Nur-e-Alam alias Maina and their brother-in-law Anwar Sikdar (sister’s husband).

Gazipur court lawyer Hafiz Ullah Darjee said following previous enmity, the convicts beat Shamsul Haque on April 15, 2004, leaving him critically injured.

Later, the victim was rushed to Kaliganj Health Complex where duty doctor declared him dead.

Investigation Officer (IO) Abu Bakar Siddique submitted charge sheet on October 10 accusing the four convicts.
