‘4 more eco-parks to be built’

Senior Correspondent: Shipping Minister Shahjahan Khan said that four more eco-parks will be set up around Dhaka city.

There are plans for setting up four more eco-parks around Dhaka city to prevent illegal grabbing of river bank, for the development of environment and recreation, said the minister while addressing an inaugural function of rides of the Eco-Park built by Bangladesh Inland Water Transport Authority (BIWTA) at Shyampur in the capital on Thursday.

The minister said, “The incumbent government under the leadership of Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina is implementing different projects taken to save all rivers in the country in order to ensure better environment.”

Attended by others, BIWTA Chairman M Mozammel Haque presided over the programme.
