4 suspected militants who surrender in Ashulia raid remanded

Staff Correspondent: A Dhaka court on Monday granted a four-day remand for the four suspected militants who surrendered from a militant hideout in Ashulia's Chourabali area of Savar, on the outskirts of Dhaka.

Senior Judicial Magistrate Fairuz Tasnim passed the order after hearing in a case filed under the Anti-Terrorism Act in connection with the incident.

The accused remanded are Rashedunnabi, Mozammel Haque alias Masud, Irfanul Islam and Alamgir.

RAB's ASP Unu Gang, also the investigation officer of the case, produced the accused before the court, seeking a 10-day remand for them.

The four suspected militants surrendered to the Rapid Action Battalion (RAB)-4 during an operation at a one-storey house which was cordoned off on suspicion of militant hideout in Ashulia's Chourabali area of Savar around 1:00am on Sunday.
