4 victims of Narayanganj identified

Pabna Correspondent: The four youths who were found dead on the side of Dhaka-Sylhet Highway at Naraynganj’s Araihajar in the early hours of Sunday have been identified.

The victims were known as - Sabuj Sardar, 32, son of Khairul Sarkar, Liton Sardar, 32, son of Ratan Sardar, Jahurul Sardar, 30, son of Lokman Sardar, Faruk Khandakar, 38, son of late Solaiman. All of them were from Pabna district.

Relatives of the victims identified the bodies on Monday visiting Narayanganj General Hospital morgue. Meanwhile, they claimed that the victims were picked up by some people identifying themselves as officials of the Detective Branch (DB) of police on Friday.

However, Pabna police said that they were not informed about the matter even police did not go to the area.



Following the issue, Masud Rana, Officer-in-Charge (OC) of Ataikula Police Station, said no one from the victims’ families has filed any formal complaint with the police yet. Although, the previous records of them are not good.

OC also said that the youths did not live in their village regularly. Of them, Faruk was absent in the village from long time. But, it was assumed that they were involved robbery in several areas.
