4.5 magnitude earth quake jolts northern districts

Staff Correspondent, Rangpur: An earthquake measuring 4.5 on the Richter scale hit northern part of Bangladesh on Saturday morning.

Earthquake expart Mumnul Islam of Dhaka met office said the epicentre of the quake was roughly located at a northern area, 272 kilometres away from Dhaka.

The met office sources said that the tremor felt from Rangpur, Dinajpur, Thakurgaon, Panchagarh, Nilphamari, Kurigram and Gaibandha districts.

No casualty or loss of property was reported immediately.
